Embrace Music is a social enterprise fronted by Sadhbh and Sharon Murphy. For the last seven years they have worked both together and separately in County Kildare running community choirs and delivering music sessions to people living with dementia and other age-related illnesses. The overall aim of Embrace Music is to give people as many different opportunities to embrace music, movement and other art forms as possible in their own locality, or even in their own home.

Projects to date include:

'Murmurations: A Song Cycle' - supported by the Irish Hospice Foundation, this series of songs gives voice to the collective experience of grief, loss and hope as experienced by the communities with whom we work throughout Covid-19.

Access the full cycle here, with introduction by psychologist & author Niamh Fitzpatrick.

Weekly livestream music sessions for nursing homes, home carers and stay-at-home music lovers across Ireland.

These ran every Friday morning at 11am from March 2020 to April 2021 on www.facebook.com.com/embracemusicireland

'Calming Covers', an album in aid of the Kildare Samaritans, featuring 10 Kildare artists singing songs that bring them comfort.

Download the album from Bandcamp.

The Compassionate Culture Network is a programme developed in collaboration with the Irish Hospice Foundation, facilitating the gentle exploration of loss in all its form through creativity. Find out more here.
